Nepal’s foreign trade has witnessed a positive shift in the fourth month of the current fiscal year. Exports increased by 4.16% to reach Rs 52.67 billion, while imports grew marginally by 0.17%, totaling Rs 513.38 billion, compared to Rs 512.50 billion during the same period last year.
According to data from the Department of Customs (DoC), both exports and imports experienced negative growth during the first three months of the fiscal year, ending in mid-October. However, the country’s cross-border trade rebounded significantly in the subsequent month, between mid-October and mid-November.
This improvement is a promising sign for Nepal’s trade dynamics as the fiscal year progresses.
